Does TAG Family NP take insurance?

At TAG Family NP, we prioritize your health and well-being without the constraints imposed by insurance companies. For this reason, we do not bill, accept, or contract with any insurance providers, and payment is required at the time of service. Insurance often dictates treatment options through standardized policies, which may limit access to the most effective, individualized care in favor of more cost-effective alternatives. By remaining independent of insurance, TAG Family NP can offer a more personalized and integrative approach to your health, focusing on achieving optimal wellness rather than simply addressing illness. Although we are considered “Out-of-Network,” this allows us to keep our prices competitive. Some patients have used their HSA/FSA accounts for services, but coverage is not guaranteed. We recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to confirm your eligibility.

What kind of medical professional will oversee my care?

Your care at TAG Family NP will be overseen by Teneika A. Gravely, FNP-BC, a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Teneika brings extensive training and expertise in testosterone replacement and optimization, bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), peptide therapies, regenerative medicine, and weight loss treatment. She is also currently enrolled in a fellowship program for functional medicine, ensuring that your care is grounded in the latest advancements in integrative and holistic approaches to health.

May I get a copy of my prescription and/or have it filled at another pharmacy?

TAG Family NP partners with preferred FDA-regulated pharmacies to ensure you receive high-quality, patient-specific compounded therapies at pre-negotiated rates with excellent customer service. Due to the personalized nature of these therapies, prescriptions must be filled through our pharmacy network and cannot be transferred to another pharmacy.

Where do I pick up prescriptions?

For your convenience, all prescriptions are mailed directly to your address, ensuring a seamless and hassle-free experience.

Are all compounded medications sourced from FDA-regulated pharmacies in the U.S.?

Yes, all of our compounded medications are prepared by trusted partner pharmacies located within the United States. These pharmacies are registered as 503A or 503B compounding facilities and are regulated by the FDA to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality.

Is hormone therapy (HRT, TRT, TOT, BHRT) right for me?

Hormone therapy is a highly individualized treatment that requires thorough lab work and a personal consultation with a licensed provider. During the consultation, we will review your lab results and work together to determine if hormone therapy is appropriate for you, and identify the best course of treatment tailored to your specific needs.

What is bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) or testosterone replacement therapy (TRT)?

Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) and testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) are medical treatments that use hormones structurally identical to the ones naturally produced by your body. These therapies aim to restore hormone levels to those typically found in younger individuals. BHRT is often used to treat symptoms of perimenopause and menopause in women, while TRT addresses symptoms of low testosterone in men, helping to alleviate hormonal imbalances and improve overall well-being.

What are the signs that you may need hormone replacement therapy?

As we age, many men and women experience hormonal imbalances due to natural changes like menopause in women and andropause in men. These imbalances can lead to a range of symptoms, including weight gain, hair loss, low sex drive, depression, mood swings, brain fog, erectile dysfunction, vaginal dryness, difficulty maintaining muscle mass, and more. Unfortunately, many people accept these changes as inevitable, leading to a diminished quality of life. Left untreated, hormonal imbalances can also negatively impact long-term health and lifespan. Hormone replacement therapy may help restore balance and alleviate these symptoms.
